The sample lesson I reviewed is well organized and
thought-out. On the preview page the overview gives a great summary of what the
lesson is about and which goals students will achieve through the
implementation of this lesson. The section “From Theory to Practice” gives an
in depth look at the benefits of children working with words to help them
become better readers and writers. The standards page states the NCTE/IRA national
standards for the English Language Arts in great detail, which addresses many
learning objectives. The resource materials used in this lesson are very
helpful and supplement the lesson that enhances it greatly. The resources and
preparation page list what materials needs to be gathered and prepared ahead of
time. The lesson rubric and planning page are great addition for the teacher.
Similarly, the instructional plan is organized in a way that will allow the
sessions to be completed in a period of five to six days. Each day the students
build on the previous days work. The process helps students understand how to compose
a piece of writing over a period of time. In addition, the assessment and
student reflections are also listed for the instructor’s convenience. Overall,
the lesson plan is structured in a way that anyone can use it easily with
minimal challenges.
I also consider this lesson plan is structured and easy to follow, and the fact that the students work on the performance adds a lot of motivation.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the sample lesson was easy to followed. My motto is work smarter not harder. Simplicity in lesson are important for students to grasp the skill before applying it to an application ( exit ticket).
